1970 -1972 University Complutense, Madrid, Spain, studies on Oenology (family activity in Colombia),
Siemens A.G., Karlsruhe, Germany, working on the Volkswagen Computer Diagnostic project and collecting material and information for the final project in order to obtain the Electronics Engineering Diploma.
1972 - 1972 Electronics Engineering Diploma. University Javeriana, Bogotá, Colombia.
2002 - 2003 University San Buenaventura, Bogotá, Colombia, Pedagogical Teaching Specialist Diploma.
Working as an employee: 1972 - 1972 Ergon S.A. Electrical Industry, building the quality control department with automated electronically measurement systems.
1973 - 1975 Berol Corporation, Bogotá, Colombia. Berol Corporation, Danbury, Con., United States. Berol Corporation, Montreal, Quebec, Canada. The greatest pencils and writing material factories in the world. Today, Sanford Corporation. Earlier, the Eagle Pencil Company. (At that time with factories in England). Electronically Automation for the injection moulding departments and machinery. Mister Frank Cinco, from the General Electric Company in the United States, introduces me on their first type of PLC’s, the PM-1000 system. Big systems programmed through wires.
2004 - 2005 Jhernando, SL, Madrid, Spain. Four important Software automation projects, for Eggs, Cheese, Ice and Cartoon Producers, using Omron PLC’s.
Working as Teacher: 1998 - 2007 Central Technical Institute “La Salle”,
Working as an independent engineer: 1975 - 2007
1981 - 1985 With the first two personal business computers Sharp model 3201 imported to Colombia, a 22 level Account software, used in a few companies for at least 10 years.
1981 - 2003 With programming periods of about four months per year finally a method (circa 20 programs) which produces a not synchronised generic ladder code to be used in PLC’s programming. Parts of the algorithms were developed on the University of California, at Berkeley, from important mathematicians.
The principal projects done during the last years in Colombia.
Mármoles y Canteras de Terreros Ltd. A big automated cutting machine, 0.01 mm precision, for stones with up to the following dimensions: 3 meters long, 3 meters wide and 2 meter high.
Ergon S.A. A ballast’s transformers welding system. This is in order to avoid steel vibration, produced from the alternating current on the coils.
Ergon S.A. A complete programmed system to manufacture the Coils finished before they have imported from Japan a better machine.
Trimco S.A. For the Chevrolet Corsa Woodstock’s door panels, the complete system including a 200 kW three-phase PLC thyristor controlled open oven. It has many movements, short forward and short backwards to avoid overheating, complete forward to put gently rotating the Woodstock material (190 degrees centigrade ) inside the moulds, on an hydraulic 250 tons press, full back to get another laminated Woodstock material and forward to heat it. At the same time operates the press.
Thermoform S.A. From an old American thermoforming machine, adapted to make the Toyota and Corsa floor covers. The heating system again PLC thyristor controlled and the whole movements using another PLC. Both last heating systems described were developed using a Gauss probability curve. It is very simple but also powerful. The design includes the mechanical part, excepting the machine on Thermoform S.A.
Opened question analysis. Manipulating through software how the people answer a number of questions, it generates phrases automatically with the central idea. The approach is exclusively mathematically oriented. But the result is good.
Closed question analysis. Each answer has a qualification, and each question a weight. In both cases there can be hundreds or thousands of persons involved, because for each one it’s a file with a random name generated. The files can be collected to a unique CD, before processing, from many PC’s.
Business software. When inside a factory there are thousands of parts and also hundreds of definitions and a machine is to be made, than a normal question is: ¿How much will it cost? You select with a key, on the screen, which parts are to be included on the report. Theoretically it can handle up to 280’000’000’000’000 different parts in nine levels. Of course only in what it handles, names, prices and quantities, it’s faster and bigger than Excel.
